Energy Centre
My proposed energy centre is located beside Limerick railway station, in an area that was once the Munster railway station's traffic control headquarters. The strategy aims to revive the station's spirit by
generating uplifting and fun spaces that celebrate the reverence for the railways. In line with the transportation scheme, bridges have been introduced to increase connectivity.
Located between the railway station and limerick city jail, naturally, this site has a challenging character. For this reason, I propose working closely with the landscape and trying to soften the development threshold and landscaping of the broader energy centre's estate.
Circular spaces have an important role in redefining the north edge of the Energy Centre. These spaces serve many functions, but most importantly, provide welcoming spaces and act as a beacon to visitors approaching the surrounding neighbourhoods.
